Simply Fantastic...

HAIL TO CHELSEA AND GUS HIDDINK! What a wonderful week for Chelsea and Gus Hiddink as the club secured two spots for Champions League semifinal and FA Cup final. Chelsea's revival under the management of Gus Hiddink was trully magnificant. Drogba and Malouda have discovered their "old" forms courtersy of Hiddink's trust and believe on them. Drogba is a fantastic and fast striker; he always keep trying and trying to score. Drogba is a "impact player" for Chelsea along with Chelsea's talisman "Frank Lampard" and hitman "Nicholas Anelka." I have watched several Olympic Lyon matches in Champions League; Malouda was dangerous when he was in-field. His partnership with Lyon's current captain, Juninho was feared by the opposing teams.

Chelsea manager, Luis Pelipe Scholari wasn't a bad manager either but his inabililty to communicate and trusting his players has caused him to lose his job. Chelsea has a wonderful start with the trashing of Portsmouth and Bordeaux in Premier League and Champions League openers. Chelsea hitman "Nicholas Anelka" has scored more than anyone else in the Premier League. However, Chelsea performance depleted as they lost their 4 years record of undefeated at home ground. Chelsea was beaten badly by the Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal. The club was eliminated from Carling Club, and struggled to qualifify for the second round in the Champions League.

Chelsea's Squad

Champions League Quarterfinal

The match between Chelsea and Liverpool ended with 4-4 draw but Chelsea managed to cruise through with 7-5 aggregate. The main concern during that night was Cech's performance. He conceded "easy goals" during the match and the previous match against Bolton. Liverpool was a better team that night, but the absence of Steven Gerrard was the crucial factor for their exit.

FA Cup Semifinal

Again, Cech made an error that allowed Walcott to score an early goal for Arsenal. However, Chelsea managed to make a comeback with two goals scored by Malouda and Drogba. Arsenal wasn't in a good form with the absence of several key players and Fabiaski's blunder that allowed Chelsea to go through.

Fabiaski's Blunder

There are tough opponents ahead with the mighty Barcelona in Champions League semis, and either Everton or Manchester United in FA Cup final. CHELSEA! GOOD LUCK!
